Adult Learning Theory

Developed by:

In EVOC 504 scholars will explore and apply principles of education to adult learners, develop an educational philosophy and discuss the social significance of adult education, especially in California. Scholars develop and improve specific competencies. Course work for EVOC 504 will be a collaborative effort through on-line class discussions conducted via e-mail.   Scholars are expected to demonstrate a cooperative, professional attitude and team spirit.  Discussion of all course requirements and modeling of the final presentation will occur at the first scheduled class meeting to ensure each scholar can identify expectations and applicable standards of performance.

EVOC 504 will be conducted primarily as a distance learning course.  It will meet twice during the quarter.  These dates are located at the end of the EVOC 504 syllabus in the course calendar.  All scholars are expected to read,  refer to, and if necessary print a copy of the course syllabus.  The course syllabus is a critical resource during this course.  A Competency Documentation option is offered for scholars who have taken an EVOC 504 equivalent course at another institution.

Scholars should e-mail the instructor for assistance when they have concerned or difficulty.  Help is provided via e-mail and telephone conferences.

Please note that all of the EVOC 504 course materials are copyright protected and any use of those materials beyond that prescribed for scholars in the EVOC 504 course requires written permission from Donna Shea.
